Fresh from Kendal Calling and on route to Barcelona!
I’m currently listening to Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin preparing for a beautiful holiday of writing, sun and adventures in Barcelona. But let me tell you about Kendal Calling before we go.
We set off in 3 different groups to the festival. My journey had its ups and downs, because the directions we found ended up leading us to a housing estate. After a few heated arguments and phone calls, we soon learnt that Kendal Calling isn’t actually in Kendal. We’ve played their twice already, you’d think we’d know where it is by now haha. Anyway we got there, did it in a twisted style, and met many different interesting people throughout the night.
Saturday night was early-ish, as one should be in a fit state to play the music of the wheel.
Anyway, Sunday was here, and we were actually nervous for some reason. We’d spent the last 2 weeks rehearsing like dogs for a 45 minute set, but on the day of the gig, we realized we actually had an hour to fill. It wasn’t really a problem, but we had to throw in some songs we hadn’t played for a while. Either way it was a blast, we had a superb turnout (thank you people), and the new songs seemed to go down really well. Eoghan was so well behaved he got 3 gold stars and a new pair of sticks. Something is changing for the better. Ste and his nephew spent Sunday night shivering in a tiny wet tent with no sleeping bags because their lift home was in no fit state to drive… or walk…. or even stand up. But no doubt we had it, and all came home in good spirits.
Right, I’m on a time limit for the airport. Ullaaa Barcelona. See you next week. Wheel loves you, and will take you where you wanna go.
p.s. Thank you for all the positive comments left after the gig, they out numbered the tiny amount of snobby comments left by, and yes, we checked em out, proper twats.
ADIOS xxxxx
